Nestled in the serene hills of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala is known for its spiritual aura and breathtaking beauty. It is here that Seema, a resilient mother of two, rebuilt her life and found a renewed sense of purpose through ghee production. Her journey is not just a tale of survival but one of determination, cultural pride, and community empowerment.
A New Beginning in Dharamshala
Seema once lived in the picturesque town of Kullu, where life revolved around family, tradition, and simplicity. But when financial hardship struck, Seema and her husband made a difficult decision: to leave Kullu and move to Dharamshala in search of new opportunities and a fresh start.
The transition was far from easy. Despite her efforts, Seema couldn’t find work similar to what she once had. She and her husband took on labor jobs to make ends meet. Yet, even during these challenging times, they remained hopeful and determined to build a better future for their children.
A Turning Point
After two years of saving every possible rupee, Seema and her husband were able to purchase two cows. It was a big step, made with the hope that dairy farming could offer them a more stable and sustainable livelihood.
Through a neighbor, they came to know about The Pahadans Farm, an initiative supporting local dairy producers. Seema reached out and soon began supplying fresh milk to the farm on a daily basis. This connection became a turning point for her family.
A Steady Path to Stability
Selling milk to The Pahadans Farm gave Seema a consistent and fair source of income. Within a year, she and her husband were able to repay their debts and move away from the uncertainty of daily wage labor. With a stable income, they began to build a better life for their children—one rooted in dignity and self-reliance.
This journey was not easy. It demanded patience, resilience, and the courage to start over. But through it all, Seema never lost sight of her goal: to give her children a secure and hopeful future.
